Remembering 사이구 (4.29)

Yesterday was the 17th Anniversary of the L.A. Riots, known to most Koreans as 사이구, which literally translates to 4.29, the date the riots began.

Most people remember the L.A. Riots because of Rodney King and the stories of the Koreans involved, including the complete destruction of Koreatown, is largely forgotten.

On 4.29, 1992, L.A.'s Koreatown burned. This is the aftermath of that day.

Please take the time to read up on what happened during the riots. A picture is worth a thousand words, but this is just meant to open a platform to start dialogue. Educate yourselves. Learn. Spread the knowledge. Remember.
